This works only when laptop runs from the external power supply. Waking up from my external USB mouse and not the touchpad would be perfectly acceptable. Did you have to do anything else other than turning the BIOS setting to enabled? Like install a driver for your USB mouse I don't recall having to do a manual mouse driver installation.
